NEW DELHI: An unmanned aerial vehicle (drone) being tested by the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) crash-landed on an agricultural plot in Nayakanahatti, near Challakere in Chitradurga district, about 200km away from the state capital.
The drone, which had a camera attached to it, was launched to keep a watch on the outer perimeter of the Chitradurga Aeronautical Test Range (CATR).
Sources said the aircraft took off from the facility and later lost contact with the command centre. No injury or damage was reported.

Failure is a stepping stone to success. We should not be disheartened by such insignificant failure. Look at the larger goal of securing the perimeter. It was a small simple toy, which crashed during demonstration by a vendor, and it is not even on inventory of DRDO, hence the vendor will bear the loss and not the public.
