BENGALURU: A senior scientist of a DRDO lab has knocked on the doors of the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO), Defence Minister and Ministry of Defence among others over alleged harassment, torture and humiliation meted out to him by his superiors at the Aeronautical Development Establishment (ADE).
Though he has complained to the authorities, no action has been taken. Meanwhile, Raghavan (name changed), the G-category scientist who has over 30 years of experience, authored 180 technical papers and worked on almost all Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) projects of ADE, remains without an assignment for the last four months.
In his complaint, Raghavan alleged that ADE Director P Srikumar is trying to push junior scientists (below G category) to senior positions before he retires later this year. In two letters dated 31-1-2015 and 31-3-2015, Raghavan has told the Defence Minister and DRDO headquarters that “In order to promote some inefficient and less experienced individuals, I have been pushed out of ADE work. This is done due to partiality and favoritism”.
On December 8, 2014, the ADE Director signed a directive attaching Raghavan to ‘Project Ghatak’ at Aeronautical Development Agency (ADA), a nodal agency for design and development of the Light Combat Aircraft (LCA). But ADA has refused to accept the deputation as proper government approval and procedure was not followed, the scientist alleged.
When contacted, ADE director Srikumar said he was not aware of any such complaint. “This does not call for a story,” he said.
On April 9, the DRDO Director (Personnel) has forwarded the complaint back to ADE to resolve the matter. The status on the letter states ‘under process’.
“Since no justice is provided and harassment and insult continued, I made a formal representation to Director, ADE, ADG Aero, Scientific Adviser to Raksha Mantri, and Defence Minister through letter dated 21.1.2015. Till today, my grievance is not addressed and sorted out,” he stated.

THIS DIRECTOR HAS DONE MUCH MORE WONDERFUL THINGS. HE HAS A LOT OF CREDIT IN APPOINTING A CHEMISTRY PERSON TO HEAD ELECTRONICS ENGINEERING TECHNOLOGY CENTRE REPLACING ELECTRONICS ENGINEER, AERO ENGG. TO HEAD CIVIL DEPARTMENT, CIVIL ENGG. TO HEAD MMD, CHIEF ADMIN OFFICER POSTED TO MMD TO CONTINUE HIS CORRUPTION IN ADE ALSO LIKE IN DARE. NEW JUNIOR SCIENTISTS HAVE BECOME MOST CORRUPT BY MAKING 50000 TO 100000 A MONTH BY PURCHASE THROUGH LPC AND CASH IN HIS REGIME.
This type of wrong doing and autocratic action is being taken by the Director of CAIR Bangalore. These Directors have never done a project neither their systems are accepted by users… They only misuse power to harass sincere scientists. They promote inefficient and ignore facts and evidences. That is why there is a strong move to make directors post taunter basis like HoD of academics institutions….These Guys like Burman has done irreparable damage to the carrier of many sincere and devoted scientists
Please DRDO managers quickly address these HR issues otherwise DRDO will be reduced to a big white elephent producing self serving instruments and systems recently Burman has ordered a set of cell phones called secure phones among his top scientists to cover up a CAG audit for report “fractious . expenditure and non use of the R&D product”. He has further ordered desktops (secured end point systems) each of 7 lakhs through a single tender on TATA power. These systems will be distributed among the scientists of CAIR, so that it will be proved that the research outcome is utilized and cash outgo has been achieved and production of his R&D has been done. This is all Mr Burman is cooking up expanding the tax payers money. R
DRDO Hq is requested to carry out an independent finance and technical audit to the security products of CAIR for sake of national interest.
Burman the autocratic Director of CAIR need urgent attention otherwise he will kill the R&D atmosphere of CAIR and it will be a irreparable damage to DRDO and the nation.

See the list…Only The scientist concern is a PhD holder all other are Shri.or Shrimatis (Smts) None including the director has Done PhD the so called top scientists… You will find none of them will have a research paper in peer review Journal but must have managed excellent.
PhD is not the indicator of performance. Dr Bhujang Rao has 3 PhD. Do you think he has done any good work for DRDO.
In every Lab of DRDO, HRD is not effective at all.

only in DRDO it is possible that scientists can do research in MMD, Admin, Security MT, Works and HRD. So all credit will go to the great scientific community only. If DRDO fails in the main moto, that is because of scientists only. You want to enjoy all the benefits and salary for doing nothing in science and technology. You have invented how to manupulate how to loot govt money, how to and whom to and where to place the purchase orders, how to prepare and present masala for your assessment, how to and whom to recruit (kith and kins). Still time is there in your own hands. Only and only the scientists, who are sincere and honest can stop these type of corruption. Please dont support to your fellow college and stop them doing all this. Before entire indians look at you, please realise your mistakes and work for your salary and work for your conscious and work for poor peoples money. You are all gifted people, working as scientists in DRDO, well paid and privilaged. please compare with the contract engineers, even after having masters degree, they are working for meager amount. Please uphold the dignity of DRDO. Stop curruption. The painful thing is, these corrupt people are not allowing the honest scientist to work and to contribute. Why all should depend on government to take action against them? are you not responsible to stop the curruption? If you dont have the guts to stop them, atleast dont encourage or join your hands to them. Appeal to all DRDO community, join your hands and stop the curruption and condemn the corrupt people.
